“Cosmic Hearse” was a solo exhibition, where I presented “Place I Can’t Go” and previewed “Sarg,” the first part of a new virtual reality project.
“Place I Can’t Go” is a game inspired by a recurring nightmare I used to have, stemming from childhood trauma related to displacement and migration. You can read more about the project and download the game here: https://www.aleksslota.com/place-i-cant-go/
“Sarg” explores the problematics of long-term nuclear storage through unfriendly architecture, foreboding atmosphere, and a haunting soundtrack. The viewer is invited to explore a landscape that they should be repulsed by, descending into the dark depths of the final resting place of human folly. This environment is the first installment of the larger project titled “Cosmic Hearse” which examines various ecological disasters through VR immersion.
