PRIMAL UPROAR

A 20 minute vocal improvisation utilising the voice and limited effects to create the entire soundscape. This was the continuation of my research into my voice as a primary sound maker; the voice as holder of deep emotions that manifest through verbal language and more so through non-verbal noise.

For the performance I used a standard hand held microphone as well as a pair of custom made throat microphones.

I performed this piece for the third instalment of the Primal Uproar festival, which took place on Ms. Stubnitz, an old fish processing ship converted into a concert venue. The ship is currently docked in Hamburg, Germany.

The festival was organized by Dr. Nexus and Jose Macabra.
